Just started implementing an auto-delete feature that's been in place for like 15 years but never really used. Just like how the forums auto-bury a thread if it's flagged too many times, those threads will now be auto-deleted if flagged even more times. User gallery photos will now also be auto-deleted after a certain flag threshold (no bury threshold for photos).
Depending on the type of flag reported, a couple of flags will still bury a thread, and a few more than that will now delete it. Photos will also be deleted after about 4 flags. I'm vague with the numbers because different flags have different weights. So e.g. "Illegal" and "Spam" have a weight of -1000 while Offensive has a weight of -500, and the collapse / delete thresholds are currently at -2000 and -4000 points respectively, and I'm always tweaking these numbers. Over time, I'll add auto-delete to more than just posts and gallery photos, but for now this will cover most of reported flags I think.
Never really implemented auto-delete before because we didn't really have a large-enough volume of community flags to implement automated deletions based on aggregated community consensus, but I think we're finally approaching a threshold of engagement where it makes sense. I'm finding myself routinely buried either in code or dealing with other things (including life) and having UMD itself be responsive to the community will help get some things dealt with more quickly.
